One of the biggest art fairs of the country, Alla Prima International Art Fair organised by JMN Group was a modern and contemporary international art fair where around 1000 artist from 40 Indian and 50 international art galleries and institutions participated to show their works.The event commenced on December 12 at the Capital’s Talkatora Stadium and is on till today. The event was curated by Nicola Davide Angerame (Turin, Italy), Dipto Narayan Chattopadhyay (India), Laura Clemente (Spain) who have curated art shows like Art Basil, Frieze London, FISE Paris in the past. From India, J S Art Gallery, Pioneer Art Gallery, Gallery Five, Ruki Art Gallery, Dhoomi Mal Art Gallery, Cymroza Art Gallery, Galerie Sara Arakkal, Art Gate Gallery, Art and Aesthetic Gallery, Gallery 1000a, Art Desh Gallery, Art Protégé Gallery, Third Eye Group and other esteemed galleries. This fair also showcased art works, installations, body arts, video art, film screening, culturual programmes, art workshops,panel discussions, debates and talks about art aesthetics. Rajiv Chakraborty, Managing Director of JMN Group said, “The idea behind Alla Prima is to provide an affordable platform for art. Other artist look for opportunities to display their work, but I believe in creating opportunities for others.”The event was graced by eminent artists and prominent people from the field of art making it a successful art fair. With the aim of providing art an approachable platform, JMN group has been regularly organising art fairs and exhibitions in the past.
