Absolutely not.Casio G-SHOCK seems to recognize this just as well as the rest of us do, hence their announcing the G-SHOCK “Neo Tokyo” series this week. While not an explicit tie-in to the film, the “Neo Tokyo” line draws inspiration from the neon-drenched setting in which it takes place. The drop, which consists of four different watches, will be coming your way in September.The G-SHOCK “Neo Tokyo” series aims to mimic the high contrast present in the landscapes of the film in the form of a watch. This starts with rich blacked-out bezels accented by red, yellow, and blue handles and accents. These details aim to recreate the neon glow of Tokyo.Now for the details the watch geeks out there are looking for: the “Neo Tokyo” series is comprised of the G-SHOCK DW6900, GA140, GA700, and GAS100.The DW6900BMC-1A is a mid-sized digital watch with a built-in alarm and flash alert. The GA140BMC-1A is a digital-analog hybrid featuring an analog speed indicator and LCD displays at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock.The GA700BMC-1A is an extra-large digital-analog hybrid, while the GAS100BMC-1A is a part of the Tough Solar collection, meaning it’ll come in stainless steel and therefore be significantly slimmer in comparison to the other watches in the line. It’ll also come with double Super LED display. In addition to these features, all of the watches will be shock-resistant and water resistant up to 200M.The Neo-Tokyo line is coming your way in September.
