Under scanner following the recent doping shame, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) on Thursday suspended two Indian athletics coaches. The SAI suspended coaches Ranbir Sindhu and Ramesh Nagapuri for their alleged roles in the doping scam involving some top Indian athletes. Earlier, the sports body had sacked Ukrainian athletics coach Yuri Ogordonik on Union home ministry’s direction. It also suspended the caretaker of the girls’ hostel of Patiala-based Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), Sunita Beri, along with warden Kalpana Debnath and two doctors Anirban Mallick and Jahnavi Dhande. The SAI has also lodged an FIR against some chemists outside the NSNIS for selling banned performance enhancing drugs without any prescription.With inputs from PTI.
