Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast – October 25, 2019

first_imgShare Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest Only a few minor tweaks to the forecast this morning. It still has 2 significant chances of rain, some colder air, and a drier extended period. Today will be the last of our nicer days, and even today we can easily see some pesky clouds in parts of Ohio (particularly up north)Our next big weather event arrives tomorrow. Rains start early in SW Ohio, and then spread north/east from there. We expect rain to continue through the overnight tomorrow night and into Sunday afternoon before ending. We likely see some clearing over western Ohio Sunday afternoon, but it may take until closer to evening to get clearing in eastern Ohio on Sunday. All told for the event, we still look for 1″-3″ of rain, coverage 100%, but the heaviest moisture will be over central and southern Ohio. The map at right shows rain totals through Sunday afternoon.Partly to mostly sunny skies on Monday, but then we see more clouds building through the day Tuesday. The other big precipitation threat for our forecast comes at midweek next week. Scattered showers develop through Wednesday, then we have rain and thunderstorms for Thursday into early Friday. Combined rain over the region will be at least half to 1.5″ with coverage at 100%. This second batch of moderate to heavy rain is not really needed, and will bump combined 10 day rain totals to well over 3″-4″ in spots. We do turn drier behind that system, for the balance of Friday along with next weekend (both Saturday and Sunday). The extended period keeps the dry pattern going for Monday the 4th and now Tuesday the 5th. We are pushing our rain threat in the extended period back a day to Wednesday the 6th, where we see clouds and a few scattered showers, but think moisture totals stay at a tenth of an inch or less. Coverage for the 6th will be limited to 60%. We finish the 11-16 day period with sunny, dry and MILD weather. So, after the cold snap late this coming week, the following week will feature a bit of a warm up again across most of Ohio.last_img
